As the release of the online role-playing game Aion (previously with the under-title The Tower of Eternity) draws closer, more and more information is coming out. Both from the developers themselves, but also all from the fans that are now playing the Open Beta version of the game. And that’s the version we’re going to be talking about in this particular article. The open beta takes Aion to version 1.5, and brings a lot of new things into the game.
For example; new titles for the higher levels, new instances and quests, and many, many balancing issues being worked out (although some players may disagree and instead think the game has gotten more unbalanced for a few of the classes, like the Ranger).
Besides that, NCSoft Corporation, the company that is making the game and bringing it over to the US and Europe, are also hard at work “Westernizing” the game. Aion was originally released in South Korea in November 2008. Since then it’s also been adapted to the Chinese market, and as mentioned above, is now making it’s debut in the English speaking parts of the world.
One of the features being developed specifically for the English release, and that people asked for in the previous Closed Beta version, was the ability to control the camera with the left mouse button. That is now the default control configuration. But that’s just one very tiny addition added to the release. They’ve also added almost 40 new default character faces for both factions of the game (Asmodian and Elysian). Other additions include: western hairstyles, the ability to change eye color and leg length, a training ground to prepare players for the Abyss, and a bunch of other neat things.
They are also translating the final parts that are left to English for the commercial release that will be in stores all over the world on the 21 September 2009. The initial price tag will be $49.99, and like all massively multi-player online role playing games, it will also carry a monthly subscription fee of about $10-15 US Dollars.
The monthly fee goes towards paying for server costs, and the staff that are continually updating the game to add new content and keep things balanced and fresh. That is a unique feature that come with MMORPGs and not ordinary video games.

Dual-screen laptop provokes lust, derision
Recently, an Alaskan company, namely gScreen Computer Corporation, has announced that it plans to build a dual screen laptop that sport two 15.4-inch LCD screens and a price tag of $3000.
According to sources, the device will be available by this Christmas, called SpaceBook, with two same sized LED backlit screens, one sliding out from behind the other in a design created by the Anchorage-based company.

SpaceBook will feature still awaiting Windows 7 operating system working on Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 4 GB of RAM, Nvidia GF900M GT discrete graphics, 7,200 RPM SATA drives, DVD player and the choice of six or nine-cell batteries. The company has not discussed the expected battery life for the SpaceBook.
As there are two screens, the device weighs 8.7 pounds, which is double the weight of mainstream laptops.

The company aimed the device to various designers, filmmakers, photographers and other creative professionals who are willing to pay for portability, power and extra screen in a single device. The SpaceBook is the first device to feature two screens of identical size and is expected to be sold online at sites such as Amazon.com and NewEgg.com. But, it is not the first laptop with multiple screens, last Christmas Lenovo Group Ltd. had started began selling its dual-screen ThinkPad W700ds.
The W700ds aims to address the same creative professional audience as the SpaceBook with a 10.6-inch LCD that slides out from behind the main, 17-inch screen. In March 2009, Asus revealed Touchscreen Flipbook PC, which can be used as a laptop, an e-book reader or a multimedia machine for watching movies and listening to music. The device has the capability of optionally displaying user interface elements in both screens both horizontally and vertically.

I have written this article for those of you looking to decide which videogames system is a better choice for you to purchase. Both consoles are looked upon often and I will provide my own personal and unbiased analysis on both machines.
The Xbox 360 and Ps3 have been at conflict from day of release, since both are aiming for the same particular market of consumers. The main difference obvious to the casual consumer would be the price point of both machines. On one hand you have the Ps3 console which is priced higher while the Xbox 360 has a lower price tag.
For this article I will be listing the pro’s and con’s of both machines quickly as well as provide my final evaluation of both consoles.
Xbox 360 ( Pro’s)
1) Cheap in price compared to the PS3 console.
2) Very good online gaming experience as well as user interface and dashboard. ( Although you need to pay a yearly subscription to play games online )
3) Easier to program games for, therefore game’s tend to be produced quicker and also in many cases look better than their Ps3 counterparts.
4) Large collection of next generation games available, something to please everyone.
(Con’s)
1) Only plays standard Dvd’s, no bluray player.
2) System build is poor, results in many errors occuring, but at this moment in time it appears this problem is non existent.
3) Hardrive size as standard on console not very impressive if looking to store or download large amounts data unless you purchase higher end models.
And now I will provide a short analysis of the features of the Ps3 console.
Ps3 (Pro’s)
1) Good build quality, rarely ever develops faults.
2) Online gaming is absolutely free, no charge to play games online.
3) Included in every console as standard is a blueray player for playback of high definition video.
4) Extra features, including wifi capability as well as bluetooth and memroy card extension.
(Con’s)
1) High Price tag, but is justified by what you are getting in terms of features and quality.
2) Online gaming service is free but user interface is horrible in my opinion. This will improve over time.
3) Third party games released on both the xbox as well as ps3 tend to look bad on the ps3 machine.
4) Very hard for programmers to make games. Will take time for full potential to be shown.
I believe if you are simply looking for a console that delivers a large array of games and are interested in only playing games, I would advise the xbox as the best console for you. Price is good and you are sure to find anything you are looking for. Another negative point not mentioned previously,is that you will find your self spending more cash in purchasing accessories that should be expected to come with a new console. The Ps3 has the upper hand when it comes to this.
As for the ps 3 I advise this console if you are after an all round entertainment system to sit underneath your television. All in all both machines are exceptional pieces of kit, you just need to decide what your needs and wants are and I am sure you will make the right choice.
