I often think about society today and actually how similar every day life struggles and successes are to The World of Warcraft. Life revolves around money, power and authority. In many ways we live in a world where you are looking out for yourself and will cut through someone else if it means your success, just like in Warcraft. A large part of playing Warcraft is how much money (or gold) you process. This is obvious that money makes the world turn and how you live your life is always dependent to how large your bank account it.

Almost all of us have goals or missions in life. Some we fail, some we pass and it usually takes multiple tries. In Warcraft very rarely do you accomplish a task on the first try, it takes time and determination. Some people have high expectations while playing the game and spent many hours in front of the computer screen. Others take it easy skipping their way through. In the real world we would call these people “work-a-halics or Sunday drivers”

We all develop or personal lives through time as a result of the decisions we made through history and this is how Warcraft is played. In Warcraft we make decisions and our future will depend on making smart ones or bad ones. How our characters are directly related to the decisions we have made in the past. Sometimes we just want to give up and start over. Unfortunately we see this attitude far to often in reality as people commit suicide or fall into depression.

It’s scary to me how I can relate a video game to my life, or anyone’s life and the general human population, but it’s all true. Anything that happens in life I can look at a part of warcraft and think “its just like playing this game” I don’t know if that’s good or not but when I sit and think or when I’m playing I have to stop and wonder about the decisions I have made that put me in the position I am today, the decision I am making now and how it will effect my future life. I also think of the world and how decisions people are making in the government will affect the people as a whole.

I need a place to escape and this is how I do it. I see it as reality, yet it is not. I am making the same decisions, but they will not have such serious impact on my life as if I screw up to hurt myself or someone else.

In this day and age, computers are everywhere and run almost everything. We rely on them in our personal lives, our work lives, our social lives….. absolutely everywhere. They keep our schedules, run our businesses, handle our accounting, hold our music, pictures and important documents, give us access to the internet, and on and on and on. We absolutely love our computers and live and die by them (practically). So why are they so darn annoying?

All we want is for our computer to come on and work the way we expect it to and do what we ask of it. I mean, really, it’s not rocket science! We just want to check some e-mail or type a report or listen to some music or play a game or surf the web or whatever. But we want to do it without all the crashes and error messages and popups and the like. “Plug and Play” should mean “Plug and Play” not “Plug and Pray” but they still haven’t gotten that quite right yet, have they?

I mean Microsoft with all of it’s updates…. why couldn’t they just get it right the first time (they’ve been doing it long enough). Should we all just really go out and get a mac? And all of these ridiculous, flambouyant drivers and programs that HP installs with your printer that bomb or crash 70% of the time. Whatever happened to the good old days when you just told your computer that you had an HP laserjet 4 and the driver was installed and that was it? You never heard from the printer or it’s driver ever again. You simply told the computer to print whatever you wanted printed and that was it.

Well, here’s the good news. If you, like most of us, are tied to your computer and can’t live without but are tired of all the little bumps in the road that annoy you and keep you from being as productive as you can…. finally there’s a solution. You can come here to this blog and post your messages, thoughts, comments, suggestions and I will answer any and all questions that you have. So no more fumbling around in the dark and no more endless searches for the answer to that annoying little bug. I am here to help you.

So come on and post those messages and let’s get you back to where you want to be…. loving your computer and syncing your IPod or cataloging those pictures or whatever it is that you do !

With the invention of MySpace and the vast amounts of other social networking sites, the entire landscape of the Internet universe has changed forever. People freely connect with long lost companions or meet new people that share similar interests, allowing a once distant community to come together. This great power also assumes many risks. Many people join social networking sites and openly post personal information such as birth dates, or post photos of their personal lives. A new breed of criminal has also evolved with social networking; one that can break down privacy barriers and research their prey by visiting their MySpace of Facebook pages and learning just about everything they could ever want to know. Aside from criminal activity, employers and government agencies also use the information found on peoples’ social networking pages against them. Many companies screen their employees based on what they find on their profiles, including photos and personal information that is considered inappropriate. Even though it does not directly affect the way an employee performs his or her job, hiring managers are wary to hire someone who does not fit the company profile.

Maintaining your privacy and avoiding identity fraud are not difficult things to accomplish, but do require some common sense. Many people post more information than needed, letting people know everything possible without having to even know who this person is. It is always important to know what information should actually be posted. Nothing can ever be deleted from the Internet, so any embarrassing photos are lurking somewhere. One of the main rules for social networking privacy is to provide just enough information. You want your friends to be able to locate and contact you, but you don’t need to put your entire life story so that anyone with a PC can learn everything about you. Users should also make their profiles private so that only people you have befriended can view the information and photos. Some sites allow networks of people to view your information, but a user should consider limiting their private information just to their friends. Be wary when adding external applications. For the most part do not add any. If you have already installed some, be sure to keep only the ones you actually use on a consistent basis. These apps are developed by outside parties that have no affiliation with the site, and most likely lack any sort of privacy policy. Even if the site or application does have a privacy policy, it should be checked frequently for any changes that may concern you. Also, do not use the same password for your social networking profiles that you would to access your e-mail or any sites that contain personal information, such as banking sites. Finally, and most importantly, one should never assume something posted on the Internet is completely private; if someone wants the information badly enough, they will find it.

While it seems unfair or completely absurd that people may use your information against you, it is in fact a real threat. It is important to remember that anything posted on a public forum is fair game. It can prevent you from getting a dream job, or even be used as evidence against you in a court of law. Having your life open to the Internet makes it open to many privacy risks and cyber crimes. Cyber criminals evolve with technology and find ways to master their craft, even if it means cyber stalking a MySpace profile. The best thing to remember is: always use common sense when posting sensitive information on a website. Every user, regardless of age, race, or sex, should think twice before adding personal information or photos. User should always view their profiles from the perspective of a future employer.

Background checking might seem a lot of trouble but it always pays off at the end. There’s no telling when you might unearth particulars about a soon-to-be member of staff that proves them inappropriate for the job in question. In such instances, you should go on to the next candidate.

In view of the need to investigate into the personal lives of people, many background service providers are springing up. One of such providers is the interactiveinfo.net. They have been advertised in Board Watch Magazine over the years.

People make mistakes – this is normal – but these are occurrences we should learn from. It is bad enough that one would lose valuable business to the folly of employing new staff without prior background investigation. What would be worse, though, would be repeating the whole blunder all over again. People just aren’t that trustworthy.

If you are the sensitive type, you might not appreciate someone doing a background check on you, especially if you are very concerned about your privacy. Even though you are aware that the process is inevitable, you still don’t like it and you can hardly stand the idea. This means that you are probably better off creating a job for yourself as opposed to applying to some large corporation that pays big bucks.

Resume, no longer represent peoples’ true quality because a lot of people have over the years claimed other people’s qualifications and it is in view of this that some employers carryout background check. Some of these people have criminal past they conceal. Others were asked to leave their former places of work on account of their past records.

Personal reference is one of the requirements of a background check. It means anyone whom a person knows but may not have worked for. Today workers in different professions ask for personal reference before jobs are offered. Landlords also request for personal reference from their tenants.

Background check can be an easy task. Few dollars can get you the details you need to know about people. It is no longer as stressful as it used to be because of the invention of the Internet.

Most ex-convicts try to conceal their criminal pasts when job hunting. They realize that few employers will hire someone that has ever committed a crime, even one as basic as a misdemeanor. Unfortunately, merely altering their CVs is not enough. They would have to actually go back and erase records if they really desire to not be caught. Incidentally these days, background checks unbury these details and then the ex-convict is left high and dry.

YOUR QUESTIONS
"How do I use one monitor for two computers?"
If your monitor has a switch to control inputs DVI / VGA and you will be able to connect each computer to one of those inputs. You may need to buy a 2-Port KVM with Integrated Cableswhich lets you use 1 keyboard, 1 monitor and 1 mouse on 2 computers.
