HOW TO INSTALL A JOOMLA TEMPLATE
Simple Instructions for Installing a Joomla 1.5 Template
Joomla templates are easy to install and provide a wide variety options for your Joomla website. To install your Joomla Template you must already have the Joomla CMS installed on your website and you must have downloaded your template and have it readily available.
In Joomla 1.5, installing templates is done through the admin interface.
Log into your Joomla Administration Panel. This is typically a URL that looks similar to the below http://www.yoursite.com/administrator.
After you have logged in, the administration section’s “Control Panel” choose “extensions” from the menu bar and then choosing “Template Manager” from the drop options. You will now be taken to the template upload page.
Once you arrive on this page, click the “Browse…” button that is located in the “Upload Package File” section. A Pop-up Box will now appear for you to upload your template. Navigate to your template file and then double-click on the file.
The name of this zip file will be different for each template you upload. After you have clicked the open button, the pop-up box will automatically close, and you will be returned to the “Install new template” page. The path of the skin will appear in the “Package File” field, and your next step is to simply press the “Upload File and Install”
After your upload has completed you will be taken to the “Upload template – Success” page.

For being so powerful, Wordpress is surprisingly easy to use. You never have to edit any code manually (although you can if you want to!) and everything from installing a new template to adding features to your sidebar is done using a graphical user interface (GUI). Publishing new content is easy as well and if you’re computer literate enough to use Microsoft Word, you will be able to use Wordpress.
