Your son or daughter has word problems for science homework. How do you help your children become successful word problem solvers? Help your child by developing a process that he can apply to a variety of problems. Recognize that effectively completing word problems requires a series of logical steps. The first strategy is to understand the language content of the problem. The second is recognizing that a science word problem is an application of algebra. Third, the values described in the problem are interconnected. Fourth, determine the appropriate algebraic equation for the problem. Finally, document the entire problem solving process.

1. Successfully completing science word problems requires good reading comprehension skills. Word problem solvers cannot effectively complete the word problem without understanding the problem itself. What information in the problem is important to solving an equation? What information can be discarded? Distance, time and speed are important quantities that would be listed in a problem about a car’s speed. The color of the car would have no impact in solving the problem.

2. Word problems in science are applications of algebraic expressions, or equations. Good word problem solvers distinguish between the givens in the problem and the value which is to be calculated. The givens always include both numbers and units. The value to be calculated only has a unit. The unit describes the measurement involved.

3. Successful science word problem solvers see how the mathematical expressions in the statements are interconnected to each other. How would such a problem solver complete this example?
Sam drives her green car at 40 kilometers per hour. How far will she travel in 2 hours?
A good strategy to use is to first look for numbers combined with science-related terminology describing measurements, or what is given, or known, in the problem. Speed can be measured in kilometers per hour. Time can be measured in hours. The phrases, 40 kilometers per hour and 2 hours, are given, or are the known quantities, in the example. The speed and the time are interconnected. Speed is a ratio of distance and time. The word problem will also include a value without a number, or the unknown. The phrases “How many” or “How much” or “What is” are good clues to this value. The unknown quantity is distance, distinguished by the phrase, “how far”.
The color of her car, green, is irrelevant to solving the problem.

4. Successful problem solvers determine the appropriate algebraic expression, or equation, for the problem. The appropriate equation to use for the example is: distance equals speed multiplied by time, or mathematically, d = speed * t. Now the problem is mathematical in nature. By substituting 40 kilometers per hour for speed and 2 hours for time, the problem solver gets an answer of 80 kilometers. Note that the answer includes both a number and a unit. Sometimes the equation needs to be rewritten by applying algebraic rules, so the unknown quantity is on one side of the equals sign all by itself.

5. Successful problem solvers document their thinking process by writing out each step that he uses to solve the problem. The example above is rather basic, which most students can discover without writing out their work. Science word problems are also applications of science content. With more challenging science content, the corresponding word problems may, at first, seem too difficult. Breaking down the problem into simpler steps, which includes writing out the mathematical work, often helps create success. By writing down each given, unknown, equation, mathematical step, and answer, more challenging science word problems are less difficult. By first applying the problem solving process to basic problems, the successful problem solver will soon develop a method to apply to more difficult science word problems.

You can help your children develop a successful process that they can use to solve science word problems and become effective word problem solvers. First, understand the problem’s language content. Second, recognize that science word problems are applications of algebra. Third, the quantities used in problems are interconnected. Fourth, decide upon the appropriate algebraic equation to solve each problem. Finally, document the problem solving process.

If you are interested in the ultimate technology and the new inventions made, here you will find some interesting concepts about an efficient and money saving tool: the Optical Level Controller.

This tool is very useful for the engineers because it is the combine of the optical attenuator and optical power meter having a control software and is used for controlling and keeping constantly the optical power.

The capability of an optical attenuator is to weaken the power level of an optical signal and the optical power meter is a tool which evaluates the amount of energy in an optical signal.

Technicians and engineers prefer to use the Optical Level Controller because by doing that they avoid used two different tools (the optical attenuator and the optical power meter) separately to get the results they want. Using this tools separately can lead to inaccurate results because they can test and interpret the information differently which leads to complications and lots of time wasted.

When using the OLC (Optical Level Controller), the results are always correct. As a result, lots of money and time are saved and working is much easier because the tools flexibility and functionality; it can be used for maintenance, optical system installation or troubleshooting.

There are three modes in which the OLC functions: the optical attenuator, the optical power meter mode and the automatic level controller mode.
This incredible tool has other features as well: can store up to 1000 measurements and has remote control.

The ones that invented it are the Japanese which realized that having such a tool would be very useful and time and money saving and for that they made a lot of research until they managed to create the OLC. When buying this product, you usually get from 1 to 3 years warranty in case that it malfunction and provides inaccurate results.

If you are an engineer or field technician, you should consider providing such a tool because it will make your work much easier, efficient, money saving and enjoyable and you will feel that you have invested wisely money in buying such a magnificent tool.

The leading manufactures giving many models in various price ranges, and there is something available for everyone, no matter your price range. However, this hasn’t always been the case with Plasma; until recently, they retained higher prices, but as the LCD market is dropping in price, so too is the Plasma market, creating a more affordable environment for consumers.

If you make smart choices and avoid the conman selling second rate merchandise, you can have the Plasma monitor TV of your dreams sitting in your living room next week. And you can do it for less money than you might imagine!

There are three factors to consider before you decide to purchase a big screen TV, especially Plasma. First off, set an approximate budget with a maximum price; this allows you to pick exactly what you want within a given price range. Second, measure the area where you want the Plasma monitor TV and give the retailer your measurements. They will help you find a correctly sized set in your price range so you don’t have any space or budgetary issues when you take it home with you. Third, do the research before you go in and determine which Plasma is the most affordable, and which model is the most expensive. Next, determine your model.

Once you have settled on the brand and the sizing you can focus on the other aspects of looking for the best plasma. The features that you will find in plasma will also influence your choice. Finally, you should consider the television set’s overall picture quality and ease of use. Take the time to sit and watch the set in the store, to get an idea of how you’ll feel watching it at home.

The larger retailers may be the best place for you to purchase your plasma, as they usually have the best prices. It’s important to remember, however, that the staffs that are employed may not be that well-versed in the products that they are selling and the quality of service can sometimes be very poor. The most important things when deciding which type of tv wall bracket to buy is where it is going to be positioned. If it is going to be placed at eye level then a flat tv wall bracket is the best option as it will sit your TV flat on the wall giving it that flush look just like the TV’s in magazines! The cables coming from the TV can be hidden in the wall cavity or if brick work the wall can be chased out or the easier option is to buy a simple cable cover which simply clips over the wires coming down the wall to give them a modern look, usually available in black or silver and sometimes they can be painted to match your walls.

The tilt bracket is ideal when the TV is to be placed above eye level, in the bedroom for example or over a mantlepiece. Most tilt brackets will tilt up to 15 degrees. The only downside to the tilt bracket is they will all sit your TV further out from the wall, normally about three inches so are never as flat as the flush mounts. The tilt has to sit further from the wall to allow it to offer the tilt facility.

The tilt & twist and arm brackets are ideal if you need to move the TV to face different seating positions. These offer full movement and are best suited to alcoves and corners. All of these brackets will pull out into the room and every bracket we sell will tell you all of the measurements of the movement to help you choose the best option for you. All of these brackets will also fold back against the wall but bear in mind due to the arm on them they will not fold back as close to the wall as the flat and tilt models, again, the size of each bracket when flat will be shown in the description. Most arm brackets will sit approximately six inches from the wall when flat.

Many arm and twist brackets will have a built in system for hiding your cables along the arm. If you have an awkward corner or alcove then the arm, or corner bracket as they are sometimes called, is the one to go for as it offers the most movement of all of the brackets.

Hopefully the above will help you in deciding which option is best for your circumstances and we are always just a phone call or email away.

While purchasing an LCD display device, the salesperson have to tell you generally contrast ratio catered by the display. Nonetheless, do you certainly understand what this term essentially refers to? The fascinating matter is that many of the merchants and salesmen marketing these products are innocent about lots of detailsrelated to contrast ratio of LCD TV and different units.

You may learn about this term in this article so that you could apply your awareness next time you make a purchase for LCD display device.

What is LCD contrast ratio?

It is the ratio of light strengths of brightest and blackest shades of the display endowed with LCD potentiality. It may appear direct from the definition, yet contrast ratio is challenging to determine. The reason behind this is that there are divergences in the measurements of CR from other modes.

Types of Contrast Ratios

In The Main, there are two varieties of contrast ratios concerned with LCD device displays. One is the static contrast ratio, that is the value of ratio between richest and dullest shades occuring on the screen at the same time. Moreover, the other case of contrast ratio, recognized as dynamic contrast ratio, is measured as ratio between shiniest and dullest} shades appearing on the monitor at distinct times. The presence of these two contrast ratio values explain the difference between several measurements we have from various modes.

Methods of measuring contrast ratios

There are various modes to measure the contrast ratio exhibited by assorted LCD TVs and several devices. In this article are a few utmostly popular of these ways:

The ultimately hot way is to evaluate it in a room, tendering no obstruction to reflect the light given out by the TV. This means that totally all of these light rays are entirely immersed. Still, it is not a nice mean to measure CR, as the room terms of the LCD TV clients might differ.

Another mean is that of Ansi contrast, which different from the firstmean, take altering room conditions into account. Hence, it is more than apposite mean to evaluate contrast ratio of a LCD TV.

Now, the ultimately outstanding query for which you are scanning this page! Will the contrast ratio regulate your choice for purchasing a LCD TV? If you go by the specified value of dynamic CR, the chances are that the value in realism may differ from what is said to you. Hence, it is not recommended to consider a particular LCD TV dependent on the dynamic contrast ratio onlyentirely.

In a layman language, you may consider the contrast ratio of 1000:1 as a right rate for treasuring a LCD device. You may also take in propositions from skilled in the area to take a contrast ratio corresponding to to dominant terms of your room.

In order to understand your Internet connection speed and how your computer stores information, you should start with the most basic measurements of data: bits and bytes. Before you read further, don’t forget that a “b” (small case b) is a bit, and “B” (upper case B) is a byte, e.g., kb is kilobit and kB is kilobyte.

A bit (b) is the smallest measurement of data that can be stored or transferred on computers and Internet services. Bits store information based on a binary system of 1’s and 0’s (“bi” means 2, i.e., 2 numbers, 1 and 0). Bits are arranged and stored in sequences that are translated into words, pictures, etc., when you see them on your computer screen.

When you hear the term “bits”, it is usually used to when measure transfer rate, as in downloading from the Internet or an Internet connection speed. For example, “bps” is bits per second, or, the amount of bits that can be downloaded or transferred in a second. When measuring transfer rate for Internet connections, 1 kilobit (kb) = 1000 bits, 1 megabit (mb) = 1000 kilobits. Therefore, if your dial up connection successfully connected at 34.4 kbps, 34.4 kilobits or 34400 bits can be downloaded per second to your computer. If you have a 6000 kbps (or 6 mbps) DSL connection, you can download 6000 kilobits, or 6,000,000 bits per second.

A bit rate is the rate at which a certain number of bits (or kb or mb) can be streamed or downloaded per second. You will usually hear about “bit rates”in relation to audio and video streaming from the Internet. A higher bit rate means that the quality of the streaming will be higher, but it also requires a faster Internet connection to stream in real time. For example, to watch a video that has a bit rate of 240kbps, You would want to have a connection that is at least slightly faster to watch the video without interruptions.

A byte (B) is 8 bits. As you read earlier, bits store information based on a binary system and are arranged and stored in sequences, or bytes. Strings of bytes make up documents, images, commands for your computer, etc. Most sizes of files, programs, and capacities of drives, etc, are measured in bytes, kilobytes, megabytes (megs), and gigabytes (gigs).

When describing capacity, like file size or storage, bytes are measured by the binary system that bits use to store information. Therefore, “kilo” = 1,024 (or, 2^10). A kilobyte (kB) is 1,024 bytes, and a megabyte (mB) is 1,024 kilobytes. A gigabyte (gB) is 1,024 megabytes, etc.
Here are some examples of those numbers in relation to your computer. A typical Microsoft Word document is about 30 kB in size. An image is typically about 100 kB, depending on the size and format. When you save that document or image to your computer, it takes up 30 kB or 100 kB of your computers storage space. A CD typically has about 700 mB (or 716,800 kB) of storage space. Most hard drives on personal computers are now sold with a capacity of 500 gig (or 524,288,000 kB).

To review, 1 byte is 8 bits. An Internet connection (transfer rate, download/upload speed) is measured in bits, and 1 kilobit is 1,000 bits. Storage capacity (drive/disk space and file sizes), it is measured in bytes, and 1 kilobyte is 1,024 bytes.

The basis of Science is the ability to test a Hypothesis.

This can only be done by having instruments which can measure the phenomena in question. If measurements can’t be made then Science can’t be conducted.

Unfortunately, many paranormal experiences are very subjective and difficult to measure.

The main reason is that science doesn’t have instruments to directly measure paranormal abilities in a repeatable manner.

Other techniques need to be developed to reliably measure these phenomena including using groups of personal observations in a structured methodology to verify subjective experiences.

Some phenomena we will likely never be able to measure. These would include pretty far out experiences like those on the Astral Plane for which we have no understanding of how to sense through our instruments. We will only ever be able to measure these experiences through compiling subjective experiences from a large number of individuals.

It’s also useful to classify paranormal events by a “Scale of Believability”. This scale goes as follows:

Telepathy-Probably True

A very common occurrence is when you think of someone and they call on the phone right away; or how many married couples think the same thoughts at the same time.

Most people would agree because of these events, telepathy probably exists as a natural human ability in some form although it hasn’t been validated by the accepted scientific standards yet

Psychic Healing-Very Likely

Many persons throughout history have reported natural healing from Christ to people in today’s world. A lot of anecdotal evidence exists, and this is a common enough claim that most people would accept it’s existence, but they are still somewhat skeptical. Of course the scientific community doesn’t validate this either.

Foretelling the Future-Improbable

Again, something commonly claimed. The standard story being someone who dreamed they saw a plane crash and then it happened. Now we are getting to something that is very subjective and can’t be validated by today’s scientific techniques.

Out of Body Experience-Leap Of Faith

Many books are written on this subject, and thousands of cases have been reported, but it is a totally subjective experience and not measurable objectively today

Mental Teleportation-Impossible/Ridiculous

I’m talking about Star Trek beaming capability without the machines. This is really getting to the edge, but again if you search the literature, there are cases of this event reported throughout history although it is extremely rare.

Many more issues regarding the Scientific Method and the Paranormal is in the book “The Scientific Method and the Paranormal

Industrial platform scales, by Arlyn Scales, are both versatile and durable. Their platform scales begin with a 20†x 27†platform size and range in size, all the way up to the very large 48†x 48†platform size. With an array of sizes, choosing a digital scale to meet any type of need is simple. If a specific size is necessary, Arlyn Scales offers an optional custom sizing scale design.

Not only are these scales available in many different sizes, the accuracy of these scales is outstanding. With internal resolution to 1 part in 500,000 and weight resolution up to 0.1 lb, these scales register accurate weights. These weights can even be stored utilizing USB ports or direction connections to computers and printers. Available software can also be installed to provide the scale operator with additional capabilities. With proper set-up and security, these industrial scales are able to connect to the Internet, further increasing the scales’ usefulness.

Arlyn Scales created their electronic scales to be user-friendly. A large 1†high graphics digital display and swivel mount allows the scale operator to easily view the measurements from virtually any angle. Thanks to the pushbutton functions, users can operate the scale with just a push of the button. A keyboard tare provides the user with 450 memory locations and multiple unit conversions right at their fingertips.

All of these superior features provided by Arlyn Scales are not only useful, but they are housed in an extremely durable construction. Arlyn Scales has enhanced industrial platform scales because of the rugged construction of their scales.

For starters, the larger platform scales have not one, but four load sensors. A load cell is placed in each corner of the scale. This design allows the platform of these scales to be very low. This feature is especially useful when weighing heavy objects. The objects do not need to be lifted to great heights to be placed on the platform. Smaller scales have just one load cell and have even lower platform height.

While the competition employs aluminum for their load sensors, Arlyn utilizes stainless steel. Their platform scales are also available in full stainless steel construction. The use of this material helps to guard the scale against load sensor failure. This is a common malfunction of many poorly constructed scales. Weighing tremendously heavy loads that exceed a scale’s capacity can cause elastic deformation of the material. The load sensors may also be damaged when objects are dropped on the platform or inadvertently hit by forklifts that can shock the sensors. Arlyn Scales designed their scales to tolerate higher levels of side load, overload, and shock load.

Thanks to Arlyn Scales and their durable stainless steel design, platform scales can now have larger platforms and therefore are able to withstand heavier loads. This increases production for many industries that were once unable to utilize the convenience of a platform scale.

Besides improving their scales with a rugged stainless steel design, Arlyn Scales provides an additional option that makes their scales exceptionally durable. A glass filled epoxy can be applied to cover the stainless steel platform. Arlyn Scales offers a line of corrosion resistant scales. These scales are ideal for operating in especially harsh conditions. Weighing cylinders that contain chemicals or harmful materials, such as chlorine, ammonia and fluoride, are done with peace of mind.

Most companies choose to simply paint their scales. However, Arlyn Scales chooses to coat their scales in an additional protective layer. Therefore, these scales are less likely to scratch and rust. This layer acts as a water resistant seal helping to protect the scales sensors as well. The scales are capable of functioning in environments that may include weighing of liquids or outdoor weathering. Even the display is water resistant. With a molded display enclosure and rubber gasket, Arlyn Scales produces scale that is entirely rugged.

Wii console has many advantages, but the main one that separates it from the other 2 consoles of the current generation, is its sensory system. The controllers are built with the speakers, vibration pack and the latest motion technology, so it all feels very realistic. Another big plus of this console is its size, as it is the smallest production games consol available for sale today. Its measurements are:

Width – 6 inches, Length – 8.5 inches, Depth – 2 inches.

This is awesome because it means that the consol is able to fit in any TV cabinet or stand, it is not hard to move around and it also looks tidy and clean.

1) The system costs $250 approximately, without tax, and includes a Nunchuk add- on, Wii Sports Bundle and Wiimote. The system is thus made playable right out of the box.

2) The built-in sensors make it possible for games to use natural gestures and movements to play them. In example, for Wii Sports Bowling you need to use the Wiimote like a bowling ball, while for Wii Sports Golf, you just use the Wiimote like a golf club. It is that simple.

3) This system also incorporates online free services like News & Weather and also makes it possible for users to view images stored on an SD card. It is also possible to browse the internet on it as well, but it will cost Wii points to buy the browser.

4) Via virtual console, users can also opt to buy some classic Nintendo and also some non-Nintendo games from the past twenty years, with the price range between $5-10 each.

It is also possible to browse the internet on it as well, but it will cost Wii points to buy the browser.

If you are a new user of QuarkXPress, then this article may just point out some of the mistakes you may be making. So read through our list of common errors made by QuarkXPress user and see how many of them you yourself are making!

Whenever you create a new project in QuarkXPress, the New document window appears. Beginners will often create a new project and click OK without paying much attention to the settings in the New Project dialogue. Quark keeps the settings from the last project you created. If these are inappropriate for the document you are about to create, change the page size, orientation, margin and column guides as necessary.

Having set margins when creating a new project, many new QuarkXPress users will still feel inclined to position their text and picture boxes inside the margin guides, leaving an extra space. Remember, the blue lines represent the margin guides not the edges of the page. Normally, the edges of your text boxes will need to be positioned on the margin rather then inside them.

Ruler guides are created by dragging the vertical or horizontal ruler onto the page. As well as providing a visual reference, guides can be used to align elements vertically and horizontally by snapping elements to them like a magnet. For example, if the tops of two text boxes are snapped to the same guide, both boxes will be the same distance from the top of the page. Guides are extremely useful aids but, if over-used (as often happens with new users), you end up with a page covered in confusing green lines. Consider using the measurements palette as well: entering the same x measurement for two boxes will align their left edges and the same y measurement will align their tops.

Incorrect use of guides is another basic error frequently encounter among QuarkXPress users. A typical scenario is where you want to create a new element and align it with something that’s already on the page. So you drag a guide onto the page and align it with the existing element. Then you create your second element and snap it to the guide. This means that only the first element is actually aligned with the guide. Remember, the snap is what makes guides useful. So dragging a guide and aligning it to the edge of a box by eye won’t do. You need to go back to the first element and ensure that it too is snapped onto the guide.

The automatic text box feature in QuarkXPress can be activated when creating a new project: you just click on the check-box marked “Automatic Text Box”. It allows us to go into something approaching word processing mode. It should be used when creating multi-page documents consisting mainly of text such as a report or book.

A lot of inexperienced Quark users conclude that this feature just means that you don’t have to create the text box yourself, the program creates it for you. In reality, the automatic text box has a sting in its tail. When it becomes filled with text, it immediately generates a new page, also containing an automatic text box and so on. So, if you use automatic text boxes on single page layouts, you run the risk of having unwanted pages being generated if your text box becomes filled with tex (which can easily happen as you experiment with different typefaces and type sizes.

Users new to QuarkXPress will often develop a strange fascination with the text box tool and try to assign it powers that it doesn’t in fact possess! For example, they will attempt to edit text by selecting the text box tool and clicking on the text. In fact, the only thing the text box tool can do is to actually create the text box in the first place. Thereafter, the content tool should be used for entering and editing the text.

You will also often see new users attempting to edit text or move a picture inside a picture box when the Item tool is highlighted. This is a non-starter since the contents of a box can only be edited with the content tool. Admittedly, most users will eventually realise this if only through trial and error.

You will often see new QuarkXPress users highlighting the Item tool when resizing text or picture boxes. This is not necessary since resizing a box can be done whether the item or content tool is selected.

Beginners tend to create a lot more text boxes than they actually need. They’ll create a box for a heading, another for the sub heading and so on. Actually, you can change your formatting within the same QuarkXPress text box as many times as you like. There is no need to create a new box each time the format changes. You only really need separate boxes where there are attributes which can’t exist within the same box such as the number of columns.

In QuarkXPress, unless a text or picture box is given a frame or background fill, it will not print. Yet many Quark users insist on carefully setting attributes like the vertical alignment of the text within the box. Remember, there is no box there: all that matters is the text inside the box. QuarkXPress has a print preview feature which is obtained by pressing F7. This shows the elements that will actually print and hides all guides and design frames. Using this feature can help to remind new users which elements are printable and which are simply visual aids.

How to Buy A TV

Buying a television is simple… isn’t it? Just take the newspaper, analyse the classified section, and find the best deal. However, is it necessary that “best price” is also a “best deal”? Not really. Like buying a property requires a lot of research, so does buying a television.

For e.g. Is there any difference in LCD and plazma screen? For all those who think “No”, think again as there is certainly a difference between both of them. Yes, they both look similar and are flat and thin, however, the technologies they work on are very different. Also, they both have their pros and cons.

Read on for some tips on buying a television whether it is a tube set [which is almost being phased out], LCD, or a plazma screen.

Where is the Television to be fitted?

Always measure the space where the television is to be fitted. Make sure extra margins are left while taking measurements. This will help for wire / cable connections. Avoid placing the television near or around a fire place as the heat could damage the equipment.

Everyone demands a nice viewing experience… Isn’t it?

Buying the latest large size plazma screens is quite a temptation. However, remember, the viewing experience will be good only if the distance between the screen and sitting area is appropriate. Ideally, for a 25 inch / 27 inch television, appropriate distance between the screen and sitting area should be eight feet, while for a 32 inch TV, the same distance should be 10 feet. Check the viewing distance calculator to find the optimal viewing distance for a specific screen size.

Can the vehicle size also be a factor in buying a television?

In case the buyer is planning to transport the television in his / her own vehicle, he / she must check if the television will fit the vehicle. In case own vehicle is not being used, an alternative is to check with the salesperson about free home delivery options or cheaper transport options. In this case, damage risk is covered by the transportation company.

What is the difference between Plazma and LCD TV?

Plazma television does not require the heavy picture tube as it uses burning of phosphors to create an image on the television screen. Sounds good? Hold on, there is a disadvantage in plazma tv as well. The heat generation and static images’ screen-burn come along with the Plazma tv. LCD tv uses a different technology than a plazma tv. The LCD panels are made of polarized layers [two of them] of transparent material which are stuck together. One of the layers has individual liquid crystals through which current is passed. This makes the crystal allow or block light to form images. Thus, there are no phosphors used here which leads to lesser heat generation and no heat radiation from the screen.

Do accessories that come along with the TV matter?

Always check the remote control features and comfort in using it. Check if it has features like PIP [Picture in Picture], number of AV inputs, color and sound adjustment, etc.

While you are being careful about buying a television, take a pause while buying laptop / notebook as they also use plazma screens. Sony, Toshiba, Apple and HP have launched user friendly models. The Apple Macbook, HP Pavillion, and Sony Vaio have become quite popular.

Happy Viewing!

When realizing the term data acquisition (DAC) it’s important to first know what is being acquisitioned: real world data. And real world data translates directly into the life sciences.

Life science, or biology, is a discipline of science that has, for hundreds of years, formed opinions of scientists, doctors, and thinkers alike. Theories and medications have been created with the study of life science, just as crimes have been solved, and organisms understood. The basic way living organisms interact with one another and their surroundings, how these organisms are structured, how they grow, what their origin may be, and their general evolution, is more or less what the term ‘life science’ encapsulates.

Real world data gets manipulated by a computer, where its signals and waveforms are processed, extracting critical information and storing it digitally in a computer processed machine. The data gets measured by components of data acquisition systems where sensors convert measurements and electrical signals before a computer manipulates the data and its signals and waveforms are processed. Critical information is then obtained and stored digitally in a computer processor, completing the first and second steps of the data acquisition process.

After life science has been converted to wavelength data, it is recorded by a data logger. Data logging is an electronic device that collects data over time, or in a specific radius, and is collected by one of three means, which include: built in instruments and sensors, or external instruments and sensors. After said data is collected, manipulated, and transformed, useful information is highlighted to suggest different types of scientific conclusions.

This process, seemingly lengthy, has allowed many growths in scientific understanding and continues on a number of levels to produce further understanding of organisms, and their relationship to the world at large.
