One very frequent reason of data loss amongst the computer users from all fields is the no boot issue. The data loss is generally a side effect of the attempts that a user makes to get the computer working again. Understanding how to handle potential data loss is what separates you from those who are yet to face it.

Your computer system appears to boot normally but fails to reach the log in screen. Generally it could be due to majority of reasons that can be either software or hardware centric.

It means that this may be a corrupt system file or a mechanical issue like failing hard drive. It can also be one of the system drivers which are not working properly. Sometimes, starting your computer in safe mode might help, but not always.

Over a certain period of time your fairly new computer starts getting slower. When you first get your new computer, there are very few programs and data stored on its hard drive and as the time passes by more programs get installed. It may cause system performance issues as the operating system gets highly mounted. Certain system tools like registry defragmenters, system file defragmenters, disk defragmenters can help us in handling such issues, though the data still remains at risk due to instable system behavior.

If we also have a high speed internet connection then the probability of virus infection and malware becomes very high. Such damages done to the operating system generally lead to conditions like file association loss etc. that require clean operating system reinstall.

Although fresh reinstallation is a good option to remove errors from your system but it could not be considered as completely safe. It requires formatting of primary hard drive partition and thus removes all the data stored in it.
The situations can even get more complex if you have not partitioned your hard drive or you are using dynamic partitioning. In such cases everything stored on your hard drive will be wiped out and you will need Hard Drive Recovery.

Hard Drive Recovery is best possible using Data Recovery software. These are third party utilities, which methodically scan your hard drive and extract all data from it.

Complete, safe and easy Hard Drive Recovery needs sophisticated Data Recovery software. The software must be powerful enough to scan your hard drive effectively and locate all your lost data. Data Recovery software should be easy to use and should not demand any sound and prior technical knowledge.

During POST or Power On Self Test, computer BIOS attempts to get information regarding all of the devices attached to your computer system. After examining the processor and primary memory (RAM), it checks for the devices like hard drive, CD ROM etc and shows them with messages on screen like ‘Found Primary Master’ and ‘detecting IDE drives’ etc.

-> POST (Power On Self Test) is the first thing done by BIOS when your computer first boots up. POST is an in-built diagnostic program, which examines the hardware of your computer system to make sure that everything is available and working properly.

Many times, the BIOS of your computer just declines to recognize the hard drive, basically makes it unusable- there is no way in which your operating system will recognize the hard drive if BIOS can not. Let’s observe why all this happens.

The most frequent reason of this problem is a badly connected or loose data cable. You should first ensure that data cable is properly plugged in, both into the motherboard as well as the hard drive.
The same thing goes for the power cable, so you should check it as well. You should also make sure that red lines on data cable and the power cable are contiguous to one another.

Once you have ruled out the cable problems, you need to check out the jumper settings on hard drives. If two hard drives are attached to a port, ensure that one is set as masters and other as slave.
Next, ensure that the hard drive controllers on motherboard are not disabled. These hard drive controllers control the IDE devices and without them BIOS could not detect the hard drives.

If any of the above mentioned methods does not work, you need to search for a data recovery expert to cure your hard drive. It seems that hard drive has some internal problems, which can not be cured without opening it. And you are not recommended to open your hard drive at your own.

Data recovery experts are highly qualified and trained professionals, who know all ins and outs of the hard drive and are able to fix most of the physical hard drive problems. To ensure absolute and safe data recovery, always go for the experienced and reliable data recovery company.

YOUR QUESTIONS
"How do I use one monitor for two computers?"
If your monitor has a switch to control inputs DVI / VGA and you will be able to connect each computer to one of those inputs. You may need to buy a 2-Port KVM with Integrated Cableswhich lets you use 1 keyboard, 1 monitor and 1 mouse on 2 computers.
