If you’re thinking about getting one of the higher end systems, like a PlayStation 3 or an Xbox 360 then things can get dramatically more expensive. To make the best of your experience you’ll want to get a High Definition Television, not exactly cheap. In addition, going online with your Xbox 360 to play against others will cost $50 a year as you’ll need an Xbox Live Gold account. There are many MMO’s out there vying for your dollar, but if you’re tight for cash and looking to get the best bang for your buck, look no further than World of Warcraft.
Designed to run on just about everything, WoW is an infinitely scalable game that will offer you literally hundreds of hours of game time before you even consider buying one of the newer expansions, Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, both reasonably priced at $20 and $30 respectively.
World of Warcraft isn’t just a large game though, it’s one of the most popular games ever made, played by literally millions, and widely regarded as quote possibly the best MMO you can buy. Its charming game world and rich lore will have you hooked, and before you know it you’ll be questing, raiding, grouping, rolling alts, scoring rare loot and raking in a fortune in WoW Gold like the best of them! The game’s also got a fantastic community with active forums and guilds for you to socialise with, don’t be surprised if you find yourself making fast virtual friends.

For a change of pace you might want to look at Eve Online, it’s not for everyone but you’re a fan of games like Freelancer, Freespace and Wing Commander, and don’t mind a dash of political intrigue then this might be just what the doctor ordered.
But hey, what if you don’t like MMO’s? What if you’re not into orcs, goblins, elves and magic? I mean let’s face it; MMOs aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, even if they are the most cost efficient solution to our financial dilemma. So what are the options?

I have written this article for those of you looking to decide which videogames system is a better choice for you to purchase. Both consoles are looked upon often and I will provide my own personal and unbiased analysis on both machines.
The Xbox 360 and Ps3 have been at conflict from day of release, since both are aiming for the same particular market of consumers. 3) Easier to program games for, therefore game’s tend to be produced quicker and also in many cases look better than their Ps3 counterparts.
4) Large collection of next generation games available, something to please everyone.
(Con’s)
1) Only plays standard Dvd’s, no bluray player.
2) System build is poor, results in many errors occuring, but at this moment in time it appears this problem is non existent.
3) Hardrive size as standard on console not very impressive if looking to store or download large amounts data unless you purchase higher end models.
And now I will provide a short analysis of the features of the Ps3 console.
Ps3 (Pro’s)
1) Good build quality, rarely ever develops faults.
2) Online gaming is absolutely free, no charge to play games online.
3) Included in every console as standard is a blueray player for playback of high definition video.
4) Extra features, including wifi capability as well as bluetooth and memroy card extension.
(Con’s)
1) High Price tag, but is justified by what you are getting in terms of features and quality.
2) Online gaming service is free but user interface is horrible in my opinion. This will improve over time.
3) Third party games released on both the xbox as well as ps3 tend to look bad on the ps3 machine.
4) Very hard for programmers to make games. Will take time for full potential to be shown.
I believe if you are simply looking for a console that delivers a large array of games and are interested in only playing games, I would advise the xbox as the best console for you. Price is good and you are sure to find anything you are looking for. Another negative point not mentioned previously,is that you will find your self spending more cash in purchasing accessories that should be expected to come with a new console. The Ps3 has the upper hand when it comes to this.
As for the ps 3 I advise this console if you are after an all round entertainment system to sit underneath your television. All in all both machines are exceptional pieces of kit, you just need to decide what your needs and wants are and I am sure you will make the right choice.

The Xbox 360’s DVD drive is an important component of the console, yet can quite easily get damaged from being used a lot, or perhaps from other ways such as too much dust and so on. A great way to see if any damage was actually done to your consoles drive is to open it up, and see for yourself if there are any problems with it.
