After you have a home alarm system installed and have run the tests necessary to ensure it’s working properly, it’s natural to take a step back and relax. After all, you’ve done your homework and answered the big questions, right? While that’s partially true, you aren’t completely finished until you have hammered out a plan to put into motion in the event your house is broken into. What if you arrive home to find your alarm ringing amidst a general commotion, with no police to be found?

Well, hopefully you won’t panic and have a plan ready. Here’s how to make a response in five steps.

1. Get on the phone immediately and call the police. Leave your home security company for another moment. At this point you want help on the scene, not counseling, especially if there is reason to believe someone is still inside your home or in the vicinity. A police cruiser in the neighborhood might have the good fortune to spot a suspicious character walking at a brisk pace, or driving erratically and in a hurry. If you have a security camera, check it for a description as soon as you know it’s safe.

2. Do a once-over of the premises. Frankly, the least important detail at that moment would be some cash laying around the house (inadvisable to have any, by the way). Check if your cars are still in the garage, your safe is still in the wall and your computers haven’t left the building. Those early moments are critical for stolen automobiles and will clue you in as to the potential for credit card fraud and identity theft.

3. Write out a list of stolen property and get in touch with your insurance agent. An essential part of a home security plan is an insurance policy with total coverage. The way to limit the potential for damage is to make a video of any valuables in your house to correspond to insured items, erasing the room for doubt. Also, having your driver’s license number or passport number etched into your property never hurts.

4. After the police have done their work and you have their report in your hands, start the damage control. The arduous process of filing an insurance claim might tell you whether you have chosen the right insurance provider. Also, get in touch with your banks and credit cad issuers to alert them of a possible security breach if you had stolen cards.

5. Once the smoke has cleared, find out what your home security company did or did not do. The big moment has occurred and you are still a family who was successfully robbed. Once they have made their assessment, find out if your home alarm system was at fault. Also, find out if your call to the police went in before theirs.

Planning for a crisis is never a welcome procedure but you’ll be glad you did. The best way to avert a crisis is to trust adt home security with your protection. Never asleep on the job, adt home security is professional security, 365 days a year.

I wrote this article in October of last year and it still holds true today. I am reprinting it as the market continues to focus on stock market movements although not quite to the extent as during the height of the financial crisis.

Do you ever feel like you are a yo-yo being bounced up and down on a string? This is what it was like during this past week trying to use equity moves to trade the forex market. For those new to forex trading, you probably think the currency market always trades off equity moves. This is not true. In reality, since the U.S. dollar was floated in 1971, ending the era of fixed foreign exchange rates and ushering in the era of floating forex rates, there has generally been a very loose correlation between stocks and the dollar.

I remember many years ago, when I first started out in the 1970s in a bank dealing room (there were no screens then, all transactions were by voice brokers, telex or direct phone calls), the dollar had a brief period when it traded off the DJIA.. Since there were no screens quoting prices, one of the traders sat on the phone shouting out moves in the DJIA and we tried trading off of it. This worked for awhile but then the market lost interest and we looked for something else to key off.

There have been other times where the market became hyper-focused on one indicator, market or event and traded the dollar off of it. During the 1970s it was the monthly U.S. merchandise trade number that seemed to be the only economic indicator that mattered. In the 1980s, there was a time when all that mattered was the weekly money supply figures on Thursday afternoon. In those days, the forex market became fixated on U.S. interest rates and often reacted to daily Fed open market operations (i.e. whether it performed repos or matched sales) as a clue to its monetary policy bias. No one pays attention to this anymore. There were times when political events dominated. I remember when there was almost a daily rumor that the Russian leader had died. In those days you stayed glued to the wire services for the latest rumor. When he finally died, it was almost a relief to see the rumors end not get jerked around by what had become an almost daily occurrence. Up until recently, the eur/usd traded with a close intra-day correlation with crude oil. Lately it has been all about stocks.

In the meantime, expect the currency market to stay focused on stocks but if that market goes into consolidation and a range, which it could do after this panic driven collapse, the forex market might look for a new flavor of the day to focus on.

Many people who have difficulty walking take advantage of the generous availability of mobility scooters that are made available for use at several public facilities such as amusement parks, grocery stores and department stores. They can keep up with friends and family without overexerting themselves or go in their own direction without assistance from another individual. Many of these people do not possess a personal mobility scooter of their own because they have a limited budget, although they would appreciate and gain so much from the physical assistance and the psychological benefits associated with maintaining their independence. A cheap mobility scooter may be the affordable bridge that helps an individual cross over from a walk restricted lifestyle to a self-assisted and more independent lifestyle.

The mobility scooters available for use at public facilities are generally four wheeled and built for durability more than comfort and convenience. Although comfort and convenience are typically adequately provided for, reliability and durability are the most important characteristics of any type of equipment that is made available for public use. These mobility scooters are not cheap and would most likely be an over exaggerated version of a three or four wheeled model that would be more appropriate for a personal ownership.

A little bit of online research on the topic of medical mobility scooters should help you become more familiar with the different makes, models, features, advantages and limitations of mobility scooters. As a general guideline, brand new mobility scooters range from just under $500 to well over $3000. A mobility scooter with tons of options and features and a more powerful motor is not going to be one of the cheap models. In addition to particular specifications that may be provided, a clue as to the power of the motor is the number of batteries the mobility scooter has. A model that has two onboard batteries is likely to have a more powerful motor. The more powerful motor makes conquering hills and steep slopes quicker and easier. A smaller motor will still conquer those hills but you just have to be a little more patient if you want to ride cheap. Trading a little time may still be better than being physically limited and assisted by others or not participating in an activity.

A walker is a relatively cheap piece of equipment that is designed to assist those who have trouble walking. Although effective at accomplishing their purpose, the individual using a walker must have a good amount of upper body strength and dexterity and enough energy and lung capacity to maneuver with a walker. If the individual is this fortunate, they will be over utilizing these healthy body conditions to compensate for their inability to use their affected limbs. A mobility scooter does require that the individual have an adequate amount of upper body strength in order to operate and manage the steering column and hand operated controls. However, the amount of strength and effort necessary is minimal with a cheap mobility scooter in comparison to a walker. A manual wheel chair presents some of the same disadvantages as a walker.

A motorized wheel chair is another option for those who have difficulty walking and they do not require the individual to have much upper body strength. However, they are not cheap and some find them to be too large and cumbersome for every day activities in many places. If you take the time to investigate the various mobility scooters available you may find a cheap yet valuable solution to a challenging physical and emotional problem.

The future of scooters can be found at Honda Scooters. Also visit Vespa Scooters to learn more about buying a scooter.

During the early days over “fast” internet, virtual private networks were limited to corporate. As infrastructure developed, connectivity between various continents improved, broadband connections made available to home users the concept of virtual private network businesses arise. Virtual private network or the VPN concept is now available like your email account or your bank account – Point is, you do not need to setup the whole thing; the servers need not be your owned. You can buy/rent out an account or precisely a VPN slot.

All your data transmission goes encrypted through either PPTP or L2TP over IPSec protocols, thus opening any blocked ports, unblocking access to blocked websites, ensuring anonymous surfing online – So in “non-technical” words it would mean :

1) Anonymous online surfing
2) Unblocking websites all over the world, irrespective of what country you are.
3) Bypassing your school or office firewall without leaving a single clue what you surfed and what you do online.
4) Unblocking VOIP all over the world.
5) Supporting calling cards businesses.
6) Gaming online in any country from any country in the world.
7) Watching any TV programming from anywhere in the world.

And many other advantages…

Now there is another side that is related to virtual private network setup. VPN is gaining popularity day by day and so many new players are coming to the market. Problem for starting such a lucrative business may be lack of VPN server know how and expertise to support technical issue. Purevpn.com comes right there to answer such needs. It offers complete peace of mind by offering virtual private network setup and support while you take care of sales and customers. On top of this you do not have to pay any fixed costs for servers per month etc, all you pay is some % of your sales every day and thats it. So this would typically mean there is no fixed cost on you for starting such a lucrative business!

Your online business is not a wild crazy idea, but a source of your income. Trust the right people to design your website. Your 17 year old nephew may be able to create your website or you can get a free one from several services…they might even be kind of pretty. In my research and experience, less than 2% of businesses that have websites have planted the seeds to online success. Many of them are your competitors.

The problem is web designer’s focus on the technical aspects of the site. They don’t have a clue how to build a website that makes you a ton of money, drives floods of traffic, and gets you top placement on search engines.

Why Do You Have a Website?

The reason you have a website for your business, no matter what business you are in, is you want to rake in bundles of cash. May be not now but definitely later it should be bringing returns on the investment. .

Your Website is Like Your Business.

Make sure that your web designer owes a successful online business and knows about how to run it.

Your sole purpose in having a website should be to use it as a marketing and communications tool. It is not there to be pretty. It should not be there to win awards. It is there to make you money. Even if you have a better product or service than your competition, the one who attracts more prospects and customers – wins! Being the best at marketing is all that matters.

Online Marketing Is Completely Different Than Marketing Offline

All of the tools, techniques, communication, etc. in the online world are different than those offline. A very common mistake is to think because it works offline you can just put it on the website! It’s important to realize the reader of offline thinks and processes information in a different way than someone reading online copy. What works offline may be a complete flop online.

They are two different worlds. For example, online marketing REQUIRES you to know how to get your site ranked high, very high, in the search engines like Google and Yahoo….so you routinely appear on the first page for the optimal search terms for your business.

Of course, this assumes you know how to find the optimal words for your business, your marketplace, your niche, etc. Just so you know, the “include all words” strategy has proven to be a total failure.

And, most designers and businesses do not know that SEO (search engine optimization) is not SEM (search engine marketing). If you do one and not the other you will probably be very disappointed with your results.

Studies have shown that you need to be on the first page of search engine results to get enough people coming to your site. SEO and SEM are not optional for online success – they are mandatory!

Increase your ROI: Only Work with People Who Know Website and Online Marketing.

When you are planning your financial future, you hire a financial planner or an attorney who specializes in that area of law. When you want plastic surgery you don’t go to a podiatrist, unless you want to end up with your nose looking like a foot.

Did you know that 99% of web design companies don’t know how to devise online sites that actually market your products or services?

You need people who can help you with how to create “hot” products or services that your customers really want.

You need people who make it possible for you to have a “money tree” business. People who can produce money like it grow on trees. People who have the communication skills you need to capture the attention and “cash the order” with your customers. Online or offline. (That means using multiple marketing channels and starting with the lowest cost = online!)

You need people with real world experience as well as online experience that can combine the two for the benefit of…YOU.
No one has the time to learn everything about their business, the internet, marketing, copywriting, finances and so on. That is why…

“The price of ignorance is paid forever!”

Successful entrepreneurs value all the real-world experience they can get. Where do they get it? By surrounding themselves to a team of experts, who can provide the knowledge, guidance and successful experience for a wide variety of businesses.

Always Remember Your Website is your Marketing Machine

It is all about driving people to your website. This is more than “being found” for the right search terms. This is about having a comprehensive strategy that links your offline and online marketing together to create leverage for your business and get maximum results.

You need to be sure your online partner can:

• Create a site that entices visitors to convert from information seekers to paying customers
• Generate a stream of online and offline leads
• Show you what functions of your business can be automated to save you money…and put that savings to good use…getting more customers
• Show you the secrets of capturing information and how to utilize it for easy access and follow up
• Show you how to make more sales with your existing customers
• Help you set up marketing campaigns that get real results and build customer loyalty
• Help you use email marketing ethically and effectively

Seriously, if your web designer/dungeon master/graphic Zulu cannot do ALL of these things and more, FIRE them now. You are wasting time and money! And time is often worth more than money!

Test, Test, and Test Some More & Collaborate Results and Changes

If you really want online success, or even offline success, then you must understand the importance of successful marketing testing. It is Crucial.

Businesses that are wildly successful with their offline and online strategies are always rabid about testing and knowing how and what to test.

Track and Measure…Correctly

You want to know everything that is happening on your website, or not happening. All of that testing will do you no good if you are not measuring and tracking all of the data associated with it.

Here are some of the tracking measures you should be talking to your web designer/builder about. In fact, they should be talking to you about these things. If you have to bring them up you are already in trouble, with a capital T.

• How many visitors are coming to the site
• How many of the visitors aren’t visitors (i.e. spiders, crawlers, etc. from search engines)
• How many visitors are new vs. old
• How long does each visitor stay on your site
• What does each visitor look at
• What graphics, words, pictures, etc are generating the most responses
• Which search engines are getting you the best prospects
• Where else are your customers coming from
• How many pages does the visitor look at
• What are your website rankings
• How much money have you made from the average visitor
• Who are your biggest money-making customers
• If you use PPC is it working and paying for itself
• Which links are bringing your visitors and are they converting to customers
• And so on

This is not a comprehensive listing, rather, it gives you an idea of how many things you could or should be tracking when it comes to your online marketing.
If you are like most people, you are thinking “there is no way I could remember all of that, much less do it.” You would be right. Remember, that is why we all need a team of experts around us to do the things we either don’t know or don’t have time for.
But, if you use these kinds of tools and tracking you will join the 1-2% of successful online businesses. You do want to make money with your website, right?

It is simple; your website should bring in more money than it costs to maintain it!

Some Final Thoughts

Today, you must be ONLINE with a WEBSITE to be successful. Research has shown that people are abandoning the yellow pages and many other ‘traditional’ forms of advertising. The internet is the #1 SOURCE for information on virtually every topic or subject you can imagine…and still growing rapidly.
It is as it has always been – survival of the fittest. Those businesses which combine their offline and online strategies to maximize their effectiveness are going to survive and thrive. The others will die. And in these times there will be more deaths than usual. You see it, the ‘for lease’ signs appearing everywhere, the ‘announcement’ each week of another big business failure, the empty spaces in office buildings.

The key to lasting success is to create lasting value. Turn transactions into relationships. In fact, the last sentence may be the most important and valuable one you read.

I had owned my psp for a few months then my friend said why don’t you downgrade it and get your games for free. I didn’t have a clue what he was talking about.
Many hours of internet searching later i found that if you downgrade a psp you could either render it useless or have a console that could play free games, a tough choice.

There are step by step guides available all over the internet on how to downgrade a psp, mphdowngrader seems to be the most popular but i wasn’t willing to take the chance of having a paperweight instead of a games console. This a small part of one of the guides i found!

Dangers of downgrading Know that downgrading your PSP voids the warranty and can be quite dangerous to your hardware. Downgrading often requires upgrading: You can only use a downgrader that goes from one firmware version to another, so most users will need to update their PSP to at least version 2.0 (USA) in order to then downgrade it to 1.5 or 1.0. Find your firmware Determine which version of the PSP operating system you are currently running: Navigate to the main menu on your PSP. Select Settings -> System Settings -> System Information. Look for System Software Version X.XX. Where X.XX is the version number of your PSP firmware. Now you will know which downloader and/or updater you will need. Note that any version greater than 1.51 will prevent you from running Homebrew and other independent applications.

How complex is that it put me off.

Much searching later i found This It took away the headaches and now all my games are free, whats more i make money using this to downgrade psp for other people.

THIS SOFTWARE is the best

For many of us who began using e-mail around the same time that we started using computers, e-mail problems or the need for email support has not really been a big issue. Although, I have to admit that while I was working full time one never really thought of the number of times that we asked IT support to help out with an errant address book, missing contacts list or when we were unable to open an attachment. I mean things like configuring accounts and backing up e-mails was done by IT support even without requests from us.

Given the above, I can begin to understand a home user’s dilemma as there are a multitude of e-mail problems that can be quite taxing for a lay user to troubleshoot. For example, I have no clue what is to be done when one is unable to send and receive e-mails, or when e-mails remain stuck in the outbox and refuse to move ahead. These sorts of e-mail problems require IT support or in a home users case, tech support.

Today, tech support companies function as your personal IT support person or in this case your e-mail support person. There is absolutely no reason that you have to be stuck at home with e-mail problems. A qualified and certified tech support person can be at hand 24/7 for email setup and support services. The way it works is that today there are companies that provide remote tech support via the phone or Internet. You can sign up a contract with them for a flat fee. What we are talking about is personalized remote tech support for the home user. Your contract can cover a whole gamut of computer tech support issues including email problems.

Very recently, my sister who runs a bakery from her home had to send invoices to her corporate clients for their monthly billing. When she sat down to send off her bills, she was faced with a perplexing e-mail problem. None of her e-mail clients would launch, ie she just could not open her e-mail. She called her hardware manufacturer hoping to get some e-mail support but she was knocking at the wrong door. She went online to some tech support chat rooms hoping to resolve her e-mail problem but to no avail. Late evening when she was discussing her horrible day with me she was really cross that she was going to be late in her billing cycle.

She really is an ideal candidate for tech support although she insists that she hardly ever uses her system and its only for inventory management and billing that she sits down to use her system. My reasoning to her was that even with her limited usage she may run into problems that could hamper her business, like for e.g very often her clients send pictures of cakes etc that they would like made and what if the images don’t open.

An attachment not opening is an oft faced e-mail problem by users. Another common e-mail problem is that of disappearing contact lists and the inability to launch the address book. These are all everyday e-mail problems that could result in delays for her business, expensive delays I may add! In fact, I am restricting myself to e-mail problems here and not even talking about virus and spyware and PC optimization…the list of tech support issues is really endless.

I think I have given her enough too think about and I won’t be surprised if she calls me tomorrow looking for the contact number of a good tech support company. She may take a while to make up her mind but she does know what is good for her business and good quality e-mail tech support company definitely is!

Everyone who is new to website building who wishes to either start an online business or just a personal website for family and friends all come across the problem of actually creating it.

You have the ideas, you know exactly what you want to write on your website but you have no clue of how to place this all on a nice looking website that would be pleasing to the eye for anyone who visits your site. Im not going to say it will be easy to start from scratch but, there are thousands of companies out there that know this problem and many have provided us with the tools and software to do it with ease.

If your new to this field then you may not be aware of what you need to have a website on the internet. Well first of all you will need somewhere to upload your files which we call a website hosting provider. This is a way of storing all your files that make up your complete website such as images and content.

With some website hosting providers you will not even have to know how to upload files to your account as their software has been created to do this automatically. You will basically have to login to your account, navigate to the website builder and follow the step by step instruction and VOILA, your website is complete.

Before you find a website hosting provider, you must know the domain name that you would like to register. I would personally choose a domain name that was related to the online business that i wish to create. For example: if i wanted to create a website that promotes “gardening tools” , i would try and register a domain that included this word as it helps with your position in the search engines.

If you choose the right host first then by the time you have finished registering, you will have a domain name and a website hosting account all connected and ready to go. All you would have to do then is enter the website builder and insert images and text.

Once you are happy with your website and its design you can then submit your website to the search engines as if no one knows its there, no one will visit and it would be a pointless exercise.

Without adequate protection, your PC will get infected. Studies have shown that an unprotected PC is attacked within minutes of being connected to the Internet. Year after year, hackers develop and set free a plethora of viruses, trojans, worms, and other forms of malware. The average computer users hasn’t a clue how easy it is to get infected and what’s needed to avoid it. Worse yet, will the advent of spyware, you won’t even know you are infected.

The term Malware was created as a catch-all name for all forms of malicious software. Viruses and spyware are by far the most common. The more skilled hackers used to write viruses just for the fame. Now they do it for money. The best of the best have even written programs that allow far less technical people to create their own viruses. We call them script kiddies, and there are many. While script kiddies still mostly mess around. Identity theft has become big business and spyware is the best way to steal it.

Just imagine coming home to find your computer dead in the water or all your files erased. Hopefully you’d at least have a back up of all your data. Most people don’t. A typical virus is designed to wipe out your master boot record. Without this, your computer is a paper weight. If this happens, your only recourse is to reformat your hard drive and start fresh. Ouch! Just imagine what it would feel like to have lost all your documents, spreadsheets, music, and pictures! The best Antivirus programs are designed to stop viruses before they ever reach your hard drive and keep your computer safe.Â

Researchers have determined that more than 80% of home computers have spyware installed on them and the users don’t even know it. Sypware, or sometimes called adware, is a small piece of software that embeds itself in your Internet browser. As you surf the internet, signing into email, social networks or bank accounts, the spyware program reports back to home base with all your personal information. Before long, your resources are drained, your computer slows down, and some stranger knows everything about you.Â

Another type of spyware is called a Rootkit. In this case, a hacker takes control of your computer, without you knowing, and infects others by useing your hard drive and IP address. Without the help of top antivirus software, this type spyware is virtually impossible to detect.

while not costly in dollars, computers are extremely valuable for what they hold. Pictures, music, banking information, and most precious of all – memories. When you leave your house, you lock your door. When you use your computer, you must ensure the same. The battle between malware producers and antivirus software producers continues to intensify, and it escalates daily. Remaining unprotected is a sure-fire way to become collateral damage in this war. The cost to prevent and protect yourself is much lower than the cost of replacing your computer and restoring your identity.

Before deciding on which program to buy, its a good idea to start by reading a review like this one.

Is there any way to get back the files which are lost? How can I recover my lost files? These are the questions which usually crawl in our minds when we lose files form our hard disk. The file recovery tool will sort most of your problems and will undo all those mistakes which horrified your file, unless it’s been overwritten.

After loss what happens with the file is that it hides itself at the same place, where it was. But the file recovery software catches all those data and practically restores them in their original state.

Some users believe that the rebooting after the file loss will show up their data. But actually it doesn’t .A file loss cannot be corrected after reboot; in fact, you may lose few chances of file recovery due to overwriting. This is the erasure of its location entry from the file system and thus again access means that you need to rebuild that location entry again by suitable means, usually by file recovery software.

Even turning off the system after file loss may result in the less file recovery chances. So this is better to unplug it instead as system software is still able to get in contact with the file system to overwrite the data. Having such precautions means you are giving data recovery software, a better opportunity to do the job.

Never think that all the file recovery products in row will cure the issue. Be sure that it can get the situations in your favor and will not wipe out the data.

Most importantly, never use the same hard drive or even the separate partition for the installation of file recovery software. This can further overwrite the information. Always use some other functioning hard drive to install, run and recover the data from the attached affected hard drive.

For the file recovery software, one needs not to know about the clue of loss. You can simply rely on the data recovery application, but before that, be sure that you are dealing with the file loss only and not with the corrupted, or damaged one. If the file is damaged, it will appear on your system somehow and will not yield you the data and correction needs different approach and not the lost file recovery one.

File recovery is hosted by different data recovery software, but the user should always go for the correct choice. So one should take precautions while selecting a right product.

Stellar Information Systems Limited provides the range of products for file recovery in an effective manner. The data recovery software offers their service for variety of operating systems and with the powerful method to scan the media.

It is common to encounter the problem of a corrupt Windows registry on your personal computer. The regular use of computers such as installing and un-installing programs can cause some damage to your registry.

The key symptoms of a corrupt registry are frequent crashes, freezes and error messages. It is also possible to have difficulties logging into your computer, and accessing your files, software and games. The computer may also not shot down properly.

In worse cases of a corrupt registry, your computer screen may also display what is commonly referred to as the blue screen of death which indicates that the PC has crashed and it will display some error messages. All these problems will slow down your PC’s performance and speed. You may find yourself having to reboot your computer frequently if the Windows Registry has been corrupt.

The Windows Registry is an important part of your PC because it stores all the files, software and settings that run your PC. If your PC Windows Registry becomes corrupt, then you need to get it fixed. Perhaps something really good for the average computer users who would not have a clue about where to start to manually fix their computer registry themselves, there are some registry fix tools that are available on the internet.

Although there are a few free windows registry cleaner software, it is risky to use these because they can cause more damage to your computer. It is recommended to use registry repair utility software from reputable companies that offers online support.

There are many registry repair tools that can be downloaded online. When you buy a registry cleaner software online, it is important that you order one that has comprehensive features to ensure that a robust cleaning of your registry will be done.

It is also very important that the windows repair utility has an easy to use interface so that you can easily go through the process of scanning and cleaning your PC’s Windows registry. High quality registry fixers can be used by anyone including someone with little computer expertise.

A good registry cleaner must also have a tool to bank up your current computer registry before it starts downloading and repairing the registry. This is important so that you have a peace of mind from knowing that you have your registry saved before the registry cleaner start to work on it in case you want to go back to it and retrieve some files.

It is also very essential that the company supplying the registry cleaner provides online support so that if you encounter problems you can get some help. You should not have any problems with the registry cleaner, but it is good to know that should you need help, you will get it.

If you want to fix a corrupt registry, the first step is to read registry cleaner reviews so that you download only recommended software that have been proven effective by other computer owners and users.

There are actually 4 different sectors in the A+ syllabus, of which you need to pass two to be considered A+ qualified. But only studying two out of the 4 subjects available could expose flaws in your knowledge when applying for a job. Try to cover all four – this will give you the edge in the working environment.

Courses in A+ computer training cover fault-finding and diagnostics – both remote access and hands-on, alongside building, fixing, repairing and understanding antistatic conditions. If you feel it appropriate to add Network+ to your A+ course, you will additionally be able to take care of networks, which means you’ll be able to command a higher salary.

So, what kind of questions should we be posing to arrive at the understanding we need? As it looks like there are many quite unparalleled prospects for us all to chew over.

Usually, a normal IT hopeful really has no clue in what direction to head in the IT industry, or which area is worth considering for retraining. What is our likelihood of grasping the many facets of a particular career when we haven’t done that before? Often we haven’t met someone who is in that area at all. Deliberation over these different factors is most definitely required when you want to dig down the right answer for you:

* Personality factors and what you’re interested in – what work-related things you like and dislike.

* Why you’re looking at moving into Information Technology – maybe you want to overcome a life-long goal like firing your boss and working for yourself for instance.

* Where is the salary on a scale of importance – is an increase your main motivator, or is enjoying your job a little higher on your list of priorities?

* Many students don’t properly consider the time demanded to attain their desired level.

* Having a serious look into the effort, commitment and time you can give.

The best way to avoid the confusing industry jargon, and discover the best path to success, have an informal chat with an experienced professional; a person who appreciates and can explain the commercial realities whilst covering each certification.

It’s so important to understand this key point: You have to get round-the-clock 24×7 support from professional instructors. You’ll definitely experience problems if you let this one slide. Never buy training courses that only support students via a message system outside of normal office hours. Training organisations will always try to hide the importance of this issue. The bottom line is – support is needed when it’s needed – not as-and-when it’s suitable for their staff.

It’s possible to find the top providers which provide their students online support 24×7 – at any time of day or night. Don’t accept second best with the quality of your support. Many trainees that fall by the wayside, are in that situation because they didn’t get the support necessary for them.

It’s likely that you probably enjoy fairly practical work – the ‘hands-on’ individual. If you’re like us, the painful task of reading endless manuals is something you’ll force on yourself if you absolutely have to, but it’s not ideal. You should use video and multimedia based materials if book-based learning really isn’t your style. We see a huge improvement in memory retention when multiple senses are involved – learning experts have been saying this for as long as we can remember.

Find a course where you’ll receive a library of CD and DVD ROM’s – you’ll learn by watching video tutorials and demonstrations, and be able to hone your abilities through virtual lab’s. Always insist on a demonstration of the study materials from the school that you’re considering. The materials should incorporate instructor videos, demonstrations, slide-shows and lab’s for you to practice your skills in.

Often, companies will only use purely on-line training; sometimes you can get away with this – but, think what will happen when you don’t have access to the internet or you get a slow connection speed. It is usually safer to have physical CD or DVD discs that will not have these problems.

A major candidate for the top potential problem in IT training is often the ‘in-centre’ workshop requirement. Most training companies push the so-called ‘benefits’ of these classes, however, they quickly become a growing difficulty due to:

* Constant driving back and forth from the workshops – usually 100’s of miles.

* Weekday access for classes can be usual, and trying to take several days leave in a single chunk causes a lot of problems for most working students.

* If we get 4 weeks holiday each year, using half of that on training days means we’ll be hard-pushed to get a holiday with our families.

* Training events can become over subscribed.

* Often, tension develops in the classroom where most students want to move at a pace comfortable for them.

* Most students report that the (not inconsiderable) costs of getting to and from the centre whilst paying for accommodation and food can get very expensive.

* You should never risk even a small chance of letting yourself be overlooked for a possible promotion or wage increases because of your studies.

* We all avoid posing questions while sitting with our fellow attendees – as we don’t want to look silly.

* If you occasionally live or work away from home, think of the now-increased trouble of reaching the required days in-centre, as time is now more scarce than ever.

For a far more flexible approach, exploit pre-made lessons at home, in comfort – studying at your own pace, when it suits you – not someone else. Study at home on your desktop PC or use your laptop to enjoy the sun. If you’ve got questions, then utilise the 24×7 Support (that we hope you’ll insist on with any technical courses.) No matter how many times you want to re-do a section, video tutors are never going to run out of patience! And remember, as a consequence, you don’t have to worry about any note-taking. Everything is already there for quick access. Basically: You save money, avoid hassle, don’t waste time and steer clear of polluting our environment.

Have you recently questioned your job security? For most people, this issue only becomes a talking point when something goes wrong. But really, the painful truth is that true job security simply doesn’t exist anymore, for all but the most lucky of us. Now, we only experience security via a rapidly increasing marketplace, pushed forward by a shortfall of trained staff. This shortage creates the appropriate conditions for a secure market – a more attractive situation all round.

A rather worrying UK e-Skills investigation demonstrated that twenty six percent of all available IT positions remain unfilled as an upshot of a lack of appropriately certified professionals. Quite simply, we only have the national capacity to fill just 3 out of every four jobs in the computing industry. This troubling truth shows the urgent need for more technically qualified IT professionals across Great Britain. Unquestionably, this really is the very best time for retraining into the computing industry.

After 20 yrs in IT, Jason Kendall has turned his attention to computer training consultancy in the UK. If you’re interested in A+ Certification, visit LearningLolly Comptia Certification.

Should you be wanting to study to get an MCSE, you’ll fall into one of two camps. You could be about to get into the IT environment, as it’s apparent the IT industry has a great need for men and women who are commercially qualified. Alternatively you are perhaps a knowledgeable person wanting to gain acknowledgement with the Microsoft qualification.

As you try to find out more, you will notice companies that reduce their costs by not upgrading their courses to the latest version from Microsoft. Don’t use such training providers as it will create challenges for you in the exam. If you’re learning from an old version, it could be impossible to pass. Don’t be pushed into a course before having all your questions answered. Look for a computer training company that will spend time helping and advising you on the best course for your requirements.

Making the right career development choice is very difficult – so which sectors are important to investigate and what questions should we be posing?

Potential trainees hopeful to kick off a career in IT usually haven’t a clue which route is best, let alone which sector to build their qualifications around. Since having no commercial skills in Information Technology, how could any of us know what someone in a particular job does? Generally, the way to deal with this issue correctly stems from a full chat, covering some important points:

* Your personality can play a significant part – what gets you ‘up and running’, and what tasks really turn you off.

* Are you hoping to get qualified due to a certain reason – i.e. is it your goal to work from home (self-employment?)?

* Is the money you make further up on your priority-list than anything else.

* Understanding what typical work types and sectors are – plus how they’re different to each other.

* How much effort you’re prepared to put into getting qualified.

At the end of the day, the most intelligent way of checking this all out is through a meeting with an experienced advisor that has enough background to lead you to the correct decision.

Many trainers provide a bunch of books and manuals. This can be very boring and not a very good way of achieving retention. Years of research and study has time and time again demonstrated that getting into our studies physically, will more likely produce memories that are deeper and longer-lasting.

Programs are now found on CD and DVD discs, so you can study at your own computer. Utilising the latest video technology, you are able to see your instructors showing you how to perform the required skill, and then practice yourself – in a virtual lab environment. Be sure to get a training material demonstration from the training company. You’ll want to see instructor videos, demonstrations, slide-shows and fully interactive skills-lab’s.

Go for disc based courseware (On CD or DVD) every time. Thus avoiding all the issues associated with broadband ‘downtime’ or slow-speeds.

It’s quite a normal occurrence for students not to check on something that can make a profound difference to their results – the way the company segments the courseware, and into how many separate packages. Training companies will normally offer a program typically taking 1-3 years, and send out each piece as you complete each section or exam. This sounds reasonable until you consider the following: What if for some reason you don’t get to the end of every single exam? And what if the order provided doesn’t meet your requirements? Through no fault of your own, you mightn’t complete everything fast enough and therefore not end up with all the modules.

The very best situation would see you getting every piece of your study pack packed off to you right at the start; the entire thing! This way, nothing can happen down the line which could affect your ability to finish.

If you forget everything else – then just remember this: You have to get round-the-clock 24×7 support from professional instructors. You will have so many problems later if you don’t heed this. Never accept certification programs which can only support you with a message system after office-staff have gone home. Training companies will give you every excuse in the book why you don’t need this. Essentially – support is needed when it’s needed – not as-and-when it’s suitable for their staff.

We recommend that you search for providers that utilise many support facilities across multiple time-zones. Each one should be integrated to enable simple one-stop access and also access round-the-clock, when you want it, with no fuss. Always choose a training school that is worth purchasing from. Because only live 24×7 support truly delivers for technical programs.

Be alert that all certifications that you’re considering are commercially relevant and are the most recent versions. Training companies own certificates are usually worthless. The main industry leaders like Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco or Adobe have globally acknowledged skills courses. Major-league companies like these will ensure your employability.

It’s not uncommon for companies to offer inclusive exam guarantees – this always means exams have to be paid for upfront, at the very beginning of your studies. However, prior to embracing guaranteed exams, look at the following:

Of course it isn’t free – you are paying for it – the price has simply been included in the whole thing. If it’s important to you to pass first time, then you should pay for each exam as you go, focus on it intently and be ready for the task.

Doesn’t it make more sense to go for the best offer at the appropriate time, rather than coughing up months or even a year or two in advance to a training course provider, and to take it closer to home – instead of miles away at the college’s beck and call? What’s the point in paying early for examination fees when you don’t need to? Big margins are made because training colleges are getting money in early for exam fees – and hoping either that you won’t take them, or it will be a long time before you do. Most companies will require you to do mock exams and hold you back from re-takes until you’ve proven conclusively that you can pass – making an ‘exam guarantee’ just about worthless.

Paying maybe a thousand pounds extra on ‘Exam Guarantees’ is naive – when hard work, commitment and the right preparation via exam simulations is what will really guarantee success.

Finding job security in this economic down-turn is very rare. Companies frequently throw us out of the workplace at a moment’s notice – as long as it fits their needs. When we come across increasing skills shortfalls and escalating demand however, we often hit upon a newly emerging type of security in the marketplace; driven by the constant growth conditions, employers just can’t get the number of people required.

The Information Technology (IT) skills shortfall throughout Great Britain currently stands at roughly 26 percent, as noted by the 2006 e-Skills investigation. Essentially, we can’t properly place more than 3 out of each four job positions in IT. Well taught and commercially grounded new workers are thus at a resounding premium, and it’s estimated to remain so for many years longer. As the Information Technology market is increasing at the speed it is, could there honestly be a better market worth investigating for retraining.

YOUR QUESTIONS
"How do I use one monitor for two computers?"
If your monitor has a switch to control inputs DVI / VGA and you will be able to connect each computer to one of those inputs. You may need to buy a 2-Port KVM with Integrated Cableswhich lets you use 1 keyboard, 1 monitor and 1 mouse on 2 computers.
