Repairing my Xbox 360 at home was easier and quicker than I could have imagined. When the Red Ring of Death first appeared I did what most gamers do. I cursed. I screamed. When I asked clarification of the word ‘few’ he said that meant 4 to 6. Repairing my Xbox 360 would take 4 to 6 weeks. In 4 to 6 weeks I am sure to have forgotten the trick I had just learned to beat the Level 9 sequence that had been literally stopping me dead in my tracks for days now.

Tons of my fellow gamers had already repaired their boxes at home using a few simple tools. There were some spurious suggestions, including the infamous ‘towel fix’.
