The addition of the new Achievement System in World of Warcraft has given everyone a chance to see how many quests they have actually done since landing on Azeroth and it’s no surprise to many that there has been a few thousand quests completed in the world of Azeroth as well as the new content in Outland. After such a long run of the same type of quests, WoW players are now preparing for some ready for some variety in their quests as Blizzard has added a whole great deal of new types of quests in the new expansion Wrath of the Lich King.
Since the WotLK expansion pack was announced, there has been rampant conjecture about what might come along with the new content and after many months of Beta testing we know now a lot about what is coming. In between all the new epic armor, weapons and mounts what is not so obvious is the new quest types to try out we have available to try out.
From the very first quest you ever did in Azeroth it was soon apparent that questing in the World of Warcraft was going to involve a lot of killing and looting to get a set number of kills or items. Although this was extremely fun at the start the volume of quests and killing would often bury any creativity in the story. With Wrath of the Lich King expansion you will still have the old type of quests of gathering and killing, but now you will have a whole new bunch of new quest types to keep things exciting as you level up to 80. Some of the new types of quests spicing things up will include:
• Siege Weapons and Vehicles – Available not just for PvP these will make up a number of your normal quests as well.
• Chasing Mobs – Instead of just killing your prey these quest types will allow you to chase down mobs and capture them.
• Lore and Past Quests – A popular concept from the Burning Crusade expansion was the Caverns of Time in the past instance. This has been expanded into the live game world and now mixed with your normal quests.
This is just a small taste of some of the new content that has been added to the quests in Wrath of the Lich King. Additionally, Blizzard has added a whole heap of new Daily Quests starting at Level 68, meaning you can collect more gold in between questing to level 80 on Northrend and not just when you get to the end level.
This gives you more opportunity to build up your gold as you level, and are able to buy your new flying mount when you reach level 78. In general, the changes coming in Wrath of the Lich King will allow you a different way to play World of Warcraft, making it so that you can enjoy the game from dozens of new angles – just wait until you start white water rafting.
Dunk has been living on Azeroth since the start of World of Warcraft and has seen many warcraft leveling guides come and go from the market place and reviewed a lot more. Now with a whole new batch of WotLK leveling guides he is about to start the reviews all over again.
