The Toshiba HDTV line is called Regza, which consists of LCD and LED HDTV models, and although not as popular as the Bravia or the Samsung HDTVs, it boasts of some excellent features of its own.
Like most HDTVs, the Toshiba HDTV models, particularly the latest ones, boast of excellent picture quality, which it owes to two ground-breaking technologies. The first is the Pixel Pure 5G, which helps create smooth, clear and natural images. The second is the Resolution+ technology which converts and enhances the resolution of images from non-HD sources. This means that even if you’re just watching a regular DVD or playing a standard game, you will still see the images in High Definition.
Most LCD televisions have a problem with delivering sharp and clear images during fast moving scenes like action-packed car chases. However, Toshiba HDTV models have managed to solve this problem. Not only are Toshiba HDTVs equipped with 120Hz ClearFrame technology to eliminate motion blur. They even deliver the images in optimal clarity because of the enhanced ClearScan 240 feature.
Even the sound quality of Regza models lives up to the standards set by HD televisions. Indeed, not only is the sound coming from Regza HDTV outstandingly audible and deep. It also has a consistent volume due to its Dolby technology, which means you don’t have to worry about suddenly loud or almost inaudible sounds when flipping channels or during commercial breaks.
Another convenient feature of Regza HDTV models is something called AutoView. this feature automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen through an ambient light room sensor and incoming video content monitoring to provied you with the best image quality at all times. Not only will you be spared the inconvenience of constantly changing the screen brightness but you will also be spared the trouble of having to squint from a screen that’s too dark or too bright.
Even the intensity of the backlight of your Regza LCD HDTV is automatically adjusted thanks to DynaLight, which is Toshiba’s dynamic backlight control. Toshiba HDTV models have a Dynamic Noise Reduction feature, as well, which uses a brightness histogram to apply noise reduction only to certain areas, particularly the dark areas, rather than the entire picture. Together, these two features optimize image quality in every situation.
The Toshiba HDTV is also a great choice for gamers. After all, it has a dedicated gaming mode. When activated, this mode bypasses select picture circuitory to reduce game controller delay and also eliminate excess scanning so you can see objects from the side faster. This may be just a matter of severla milliseconds but can be enough to make a difference in your game.
Finally connectivity is not a problem with the Toshiba HDTV since each model has at least three HDMI inputs for you to plug in your DVD player, Blu-Ray players ans game console. They have an InstaPort feature, as well, which allows faster HDMI switching. Most models also come with a PC input, an SD card slot and a USB port, while the ZV650 and SV670 models have an IR Pass-through Port which makes it easier for you to hide your connections. With all these top of the line features, Toshiba HDTVs are certainly worth keeping an eye out for.
