Go to your favorite website, and you’d probably see a video animation of something playing on the homepage as soon as the page loads. This video animation is possible thanks to quick Flash design. Without it, you’ll be stuck viewing pages of texts and static images for the rest of your life.

Quick Flash designs are files that are created and run on the Flash platform. These files have .swf (ShockWave Flash movie) extensions, but other extensions are also possible, such as .fla, .xfl, .as and .flv.

Flash technology is the brainchild of Jonathan Gay. Jon had the idea of creating graphics on computers to be as simple as if it were being done on paper. In 1993, with Michelle Welsh and Charlie Jackson, the three formed a company named FutureWave Software and SmartSketch was their first ever product. SmartSketch is compatible with pen computers running on the PenPoint OS.

Some years later the primitive software got the attention of Macromedia, who bought the rights to it in 1996 and named it using the words “future” and “splash” from the FutureWave name – Flash. In 2005, Adobe acquired Macromedia and now owns the rights to Flash and all its line of products.

The newest version, CS4 Professional, has made it even easier for users to draw up some quick Flash designs directly from scratch.

CS4 boasts a more streamline interface and some new and improved features of its own. These Flash design tools include the ability to import from Illustrator and Photoshop, shape primitives, a frame-based timeline, improved video tools, mp3 support, enhanced drawing capabilities, ability to convert animation to ActionScript, and Adobe Device Central.

Fact is creating quick Flash designs from the ground up has never been easier.

YOUR QUESTIONS
"How do I use one monitor for two computers?"
If your monitor has a switch to control inputs DVI / VGA and you will be able to connect each computer to one of those inputs. You may need to buy a 2-Port KVM with Integrated Cableswhich lets you use 1 keyboard, 1 monitor and 1 mouse on 2 computers.
