ReiserFS is the first journaled file system which is included in standard Linux kernel. It is used as default file system in various Linux distributions including GoboLinux, Elive, Linspire and others.

ReiserFS uses B+ tree structure to store all inode block lists, directory entries and files’ metadata information. The formatted internal blocks of disk are allocated to tree nodes, while formatted leaf blocks are allocated to leaf nodes. The Rest of the blocks are unformatted and refer to file contents.

In order to check and repair ReiserFS inconsistencies, reiserfsck is used. We can use –check command to look for file system corruption. If command reports that we need to apply –rebuild-tree command or a bad root block is encountered, we need to run the following command:

# reiserfsck –scan-whole-partition –rebuild-tree /dev/sda1

In the absence of an updated backup, the failure of above command can lead to Linux Recovery. The –rebuild-tree command is used to serve the purpose of rebuilding entire file system tree. The command uses leaf nodes found on drive. With –scan-whole-partition option, the command can scan the whole Linux partition.

Reiserfsck is not a safe command when the internal tree structure becomes badly corrupt. In such cases, the command can further introduce corruption and unexpected entries. So, the best option is to format the drive and refresh the file system. In cases when file system check reports errors like ‘Running with –rebuild-tree is required’, to format the disk is the suitable option. We can later restore data from an updated backup.

Data backup may fail to completely restore information. Also, the media may show unexpected behavior, so it is suggested to check for data backup status each time it is performed. However, if Linux Data Recovery is required when there is no valid backup, we can use commercial third party applications and restore lost information. Such software offer interactive interface so that user can easily attain Linux Recovery.

Linux Recovery software are specialized applications that can scan hard drive without the aid of file system entries. The applications are safe to offer Data Recovery Linux.

For best Data Recovery Linux results, it is recommended to use Stellar Phoenix Linux Data Recovery. The application supports Ext2, Ext3 and ReiserFS file systems. It is graphically rich Linux Data Recovery software. The software offers effective drive scanning options and advanced Linux Recovery features like RAW File Recovery, File Filter, File Mask and others.

YOUR QUESTIONS
"How do I use one monitor for two computers?"
If your monitor has a switch to control inputs DVI / VGA and you will be able to connect each computer to one of those inputs. You may need to buy a 2-Port KVM with Integrated Cableswhich lets you use 1 keyboard, 1 monitor and 1 mouse on 2 computers.
