Nowadays, most people have at least one personal electronic device with them at all times. This may include iPods, cell phones, laptops, PDA’s, other MP3 players, etc. If you carry one of these devices with you wherever you go, you will probably want to bring it with you when you fly.

The good news is that almost all electronic devices are allowed on airplanes, but it is still a good idea to check with your airline and airport in advance, sine you wouldn’t want to get there only to find out that you can’t bring your electronic devices with you.

All iPods, personal media devices, cell phones and pagers are permitted aboard airplanes, and can be stored in your carry-on baggage. Your personal media devices, cell phones and pagers will be suspect to inspection, if need be.

Laptops and PDA’s, are also permitted aboard airplanes. You are also allowed to store them in your carry-on luggage, if you choose to. If stored in your carry-on luggage, your laptop or PDA will need to be scanned. This screening process is safe and should not hurt your equipment. The TSA advises travelers to remove their laptops from cases before they go through airport security, since this will help the line to move more quickly.

While the screening process is safe for most electronic equipment, it isn’t for all. There is a chance that film, especially film that has yet to be developed, could be ruined by the x-ray machines. If you are planning on traveling with a film camera, tell the airport screeners. They have alternative ways of checking your camera or film equipment. Other recording devices, such as digital cameras or camcorders, are also permitted aboard an airplane in your carry on luggage. It is safe for these items to go through the x-ray screening process.

Always check with the TSA before you fly to make sure that you are up to date on the latest regulations and tips. Airport screening lines can be very long, especially during the peak travel season, so it makes sense to prepare and plan ahead. Some airports have different lines for business travelers, families with small children, etc, so this is something that you should check into before you leave for the airport as well, since getting into a fast moving line can save you significant amounts of time that you will need to locate your gate, etc. Keeping this information in mind will help you to keep your personal electronic devices safe during your next flight.

If your monitor has a switch to control inputs DVI / VGA and you will be able to connect each computer to one of those inputs. You may need to buy a 2-Port KVM with Integrated Cableswhich lets you use 1 keyboard, 1 monitor and 1 mouse on 2 computers.
