Over the last couple of years, however, the amount of effort in the quality of design has gone way up and companies are now starting to release high-end, high quality products which are really setting themselves apart from the simple tools for text input and cursor
control.

Logitech MX 5500 is a revolutionary departure from conventional keyboard and mouse. It is stylish. The black color scheme and the sleek design d has a touch of class in addition to being ergonomic. Apart from the standard ‘QWERTY’ keys, the keyboard features a host of function keys. Simply press the FN key between the right controls and ‘Alt’ keys and you have a second set of function keys for the F1 through F12 keys. The F1 through F12 keys are pre-assigned as common ones and you can re-program all of them but the first eight have little orange pictures for their default settings. The multimedia keys are located at the right side of the keyboard where the ‘Zoom In’ and ‘Out’ buttons as well as the Flip3D button can be found. Vista-specific keys can also be found at the lower right portion of the keyboard. These include media centre, photo gallery, and gadgets.

On top of the keyboard is a LCD screen that measures approx. 2.95 x .79 inches reminiscent of Logitech’s G15 keyboard. This screen allows its users to view the current date, time and room temperature. It also acts as a display for other applications like media and email. The display also acts as a notifier in case Bluetooth connection is lost. Most useful of all features is the integrated calculator mode. At the press of a dedicated key, the LCD screen and number-pad becomes your playground. There is even a ‘clear calc’ button. It works rather well, especially since the display is large and easily legible.

The mouse is an 11-button, laser engine, dual-wheel rodent. It glides across the desk thanks to increased size and better distribution of the Teflon feet.

YOUR QUESTIONS
"How do I use one monitor for two computers?"
If your monitor has a switch to control inputs DVI / VGA and you will be able to connect each computer to one of those inputs. You may need to buy a 2-Port KVM with Integrated Cableswhich lets you use 1 keyboard, 1 monitor and 1 mouse on 2 computers.
